What inspired you to study at UniSA?

"UniSA was one of the three universities in Australia that operates its own flying school (though it is now in cooperation with AFTC) and it is located at Parafield Airport, the place where cadets of the two major airlines in Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific and Dragonair, are trained.  The prime location would make me familiar with the training facilities and the surrounding environment which in turn help me to gain benefits for the future cadet selection process with the airlines."

What do you enjoy most about studying at UniSA?

"The thing that I enjoy most is the close relationship with the lecturers at UniSA.  I have found the majority of them are very friendly and they are very kind to offer assistance for the course works and assignments.  They also like sharing own experiences which are valuable advices to me and I have learned a lot from their stories."

Learning from experience is an important part of the study experience at UniSA. Have you undertaken any practical experiences during your studies?

"Though there is no internship or work placement provided by the course, I have participated in a research project organized by Dr. Steve Leib.  It is in collaboration with the Florida Institute of Technology and I have to work closely with students living in a different time zone.  This project provides me an opportunity to learn research techniques and improve communication skills, especially the teammates in US are with a completely different cultural background.  It also helps me to gain the industry-related knowledge through the meetings with my lecturer as well as with the students in America."

How would you describe the quality of teaching staff? How have they supported you during your studies?

"The teaching staffs are very easy-going and they are generous in offering help to students.  They have supported my study in many ways including in-class Q&A session, after-class discussion session, exam tips session and so on."

Why did you choose Adelaide and what was your first impression? What do you like most about Adelaide?

"My first impression of Adelaide was mainly about the slow paced living style.  People walk a lot slower than my hometown and most of the shops close sharply at 5 in weekdays which is something impossible to happen in Hong Kong.  The living style is like stress-free and it does make live more enjoyable.  The thing that I most like about Adelaide is the weather in summer as I strongly prefer a hot summer with dryness."

What advice would you give to a student considering coming to Adelaide and studying at UniSA?

"My advice would be to grab a comfy and warm jacket for the winter as the daily temperature range is so huge. There is not much advice to students regarding the study at UniSA, just relax and chill!"

How do you think UniSA will help you succeed in your career?

"UniSA has a strong focus on entrepreneurship which is a big plus to me as I am looking for a more diversified career.  The Innovation and Collaboration Center provides a number of networking events and helps me to gain industry insights that are outside of my field of study."
