Why did you choose to study at the University of South Australia (UniSA)?

“I searched through several university websites looking for a PhD in a suitable topic and I was pleased to see the Advanced Computing Research Centre (ACRC) of UniSA and found that their work is closely related to my research interest. I also found that the ACRC is producing excellent research outcomes over the years and their work is being published in top ranked journals and conferences. This attracted me very much and I decided to apply for admission and scholarship in UniSA.”

What are the benefits of UniSA and their teaching staff?

“UniSA has got a good number of experienced researchers, as well as young, motivated and energetic researchers in their teaching staff. This is basically a good combination of experience and young enthusiastic people. I think this combination is a very good one which leads UniSA to generate very good research outcomes. I found the labs to be well equipped with research facilities and I have been provided with necessary equipment for my experiments.”

What are your impressions of Adelaide?

“Living in Adelaide is cheaper and peaceful compared to living in some other major cities in Australia. And there is a nice international environment in UniSA with students coming from all around the globe. During the weekends, I spend my leisure time playing badminton, tennis or cricket. I also sometimes go for fishing with my friends and we have BBQs.”

What is your advice to others?

“I would recommend students to undertake PhD with UniSA for many reasons. UniSA has got a good research staff to supervise during PhD. The environment (especially the Mawson Lakes campus) is a perfect place for research. It is calm, quiet and very much suitable to concentrate on research. UniSA is rapidly emerging in terms of world ranking. In spite of being a new university, UniSA has secured a very high rank in world university rankings.”
