StudyAdelaide recently welcomed more than 90 education agents from around the world to discover why Adelaide is an ideal destination for international students, as part of the StudyAdelaide Global Agent Famil.
Across eight days, agents attended various industry discussions, participated in educational campus tours and enjoyed seeing many popular sites around Adelaide. They also got to watch an AFL game at Adelaide Oval or a show at the Adelaide Fringe – the biggest arts festival in the Southern Hemisphere!
In collaboration with StudyAdelaide, the UniSA International team hosted 95 agents representing 19 countries and regions. Agents were treated to a unique aviation-themed outdoor dinner event at the UniSA Mawson Lakes campus. The evening was bustling with energy as agents enjoyed an array of activities including a warm welcome from our “air stewards” and a First-class, Business-class, or Economy boarding pass to try UniSA’s B-737 and A-320 flight simulators and virtual aviation equipment, hosted by our aviation academic staff and students.
UniSA’s contracted flight training provider, Flight Training Adelaide (FTA) were also in attendance. Normally they train crew for Cathay Pacific, Indigo, Starlux and China Airlines, but on this occasion, it was all about “UniSA Airways”!

Agents were also treated to a full day of activities at the UniSA City West campus. After touring the modern facilities used by students, agents attended three interactive activities facilitated by UniSA Program Directors.
Dr Evangeline Mantzioris, Program Director: Nutrition and Food Sciences, hosted an interactive activity where agents were taught about how the ways you taste food can impact your health. For example, some people are classified as a “Super-Taster”, meaning one in three of us can taste some nutrients in foods that others can’t.
Dan McLean, Program Director, Bachelor of Design (Product Design) hosted an interactive activity where agents were introduced to a typical product design process from starting with hand sketching through to building a 3D printed prototype.
Dan demonstrated perspective drawing techniques which agents used sketch a design for a chair proving that drawing for product design is a practical skill that can be developed.
Agents also heard from Vivien Chanana, Program Director: Marketing. As part of the session, agents were taught about the evidence-based approach of a marketing degree at UniSA. They were given two types of chips and chocolates to taste, which were then linked to a discussion about the concepts of branding and marketing.
The activities were a great success and we look forward to welcoming agents and the StudyAdelaide team to UniSA in the future.
