Nursing panel discussion

About Naomi Rooney

Naomi has been a registered nurse since completing undergraduate training at the University of Canberra in 2005.  Since completing this she has successfully completed a Graduate Certificate of Medical/Surgical Nursing and a Masters in Nursing (Emergency) through Monash University, and is currently studying a Bachelor Law at Charles Darwin University. Naomi's clinical nursing experience is predominantly in the area of accident and emergency care but she also has significant experience in stroke services, undergraduate education and corrections health.

Naomi has been with UniSA since 2013 after moving from regional Victoria.  She currently works on a fulltime basis at UniSA in the role of Program Director: Bachelor of Nursing (ELA's). In this role she works closely with staff, students, venues and stakeholders to facilitate quality clinical placement experiences.

Naomi is the current chair for the Clinical Placement Education Providers Group (CPEPG) and a member of the University Clinics Steering Group, First People's Health Steering Group and a lead in the implementation of PebblePad for Nursing and Midwifery students.  She has a keen interest in emergency healthcare, stroke services, health law and quality activities related to clinical placements.
