What inspired you to study at UniSA?

What do you enjoy most about studying at UniSA?

"The University is diverse in culture and seeks to enhance the learning experience through harnessing this diversity while ensuring equality for each student. The University of South Australia has many international students and aims to integrate local and international students engaging in learning activities, such as group work and tutorial discussion as well as through multicultural events.

This integration of cultures allows for the early realisation of cultural differences and similarities and how to work with those from other countries who may have different values and thought processes and equips students for the increasingly global business environment. The Student Association and the UniSA Business School manages successful initiatives for students. Events like Brekky Bar serve morning breakfast on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and the SPICED Cooking Demonstrations have been a popular monthly event contributing to an exciting and interactive university life.

SPICED serves as a platform for interaction and networking amongst international students as well as promotes various cultures of the world through food and movies. Students learnt from the cooking demonstrations and could take these skills and knowledge to their kitchen, but most importantly it served students to make lifelong friends. "SPICED is UniSA's Globalisation."

Learning from experience is an important part of the study experience at UniSA. Have you undertaken any practical experiences during your studies?

"As a UniSA Blogging Project Assistant and an international student blogger, I am continuously developing, updating and promoting the 'UniSA International Student Blog' and 'UniSA Share Your Story' program on campus and globally. Advertising the UniSA Student Engagement activities and events via social media platforms to increase international student's participation. Promoting multiculturalism and engaging international and local students to develop the student experience.

As a UniSA Student Ambassador, I am working with the Student Engagement Unit and Project Management of large scale (50 to 300 participants) campus-wide events (Multicultural Week, Orientation Weeks, Open Day, Careers Expo, Volunteering and Clubs Fest, Movies at Campus, etc.) and performing general administration duties. Assisting the marketing and communications team in developing promotional materials for international and domestic students to engage more with the university events and non-academic activities. Creating online contents, social media promotions and gathering students' feedback.

Being a UniSA Business Mentor, I am assisting international students in developing leadership, communication and teamwork skills. Helping new students with the transition to the social and academic culture of the university and encouraging interaction between students, in particular, international and domestic students in the student experience programs, such as UniSA Your Culture My Culture, UniSA Community Gardens and UniSA SPICED (Multicultural Cooking Demonstrations)."

How would you describe the quality of teaching staff? How have they supported you during your studies?

"Teachers at UniSA exhibit high knowledge in their respective fields. Students have a high standard of interaction and quality relationships with their tutors. I think the overall staff is diverse, well aware and understand the student counterparts well. With the teaching staff taking care to ensure all students can grasp the fundamental concepts and necessary information."
