Step 2

Getting an offer

You may receive an offer to start your study online. Don’t worry, starting online doesn’t mean you can’t come onto campus. If you secure your flights in time, you can arrive before semester starts. If you aren't able to arrive in Adelaide in time, we will assist you to transition to on-campus study anytime during your first semester. This means you don’t have to rush to book a plane ticket which is good news as we know that flights are going to be in high demand in early 2022.

We think your best chance of stepping onto campus as soon as possible is to accept your offer to start online so you can transition during Semester 1. To support you in your transition, we’re offering the same discounted online fee of $AUD 2875 per 4.5 unit course during your first study period, regardless of when you arrive.

Step 3

Plan your travel

Now that you’ve got your offer and are scheduled to start studying online in February (Study Period 2) or April (Study Period 3) – you can focus on your travel plans. Remember, you can arrive anytime during your first semester.

We will support your transition to on-campus study as soon as you can get on a flight. This means no rushing and no pressure – let’s take some of the stress out of your travel plans. Click on the link below for key information you will need to keep in mind as you make your travel plans.

Meet travel requirements

As well as booking flights, you will also need to meet all the requirements for travel to Australia including visas and vaccination. We’ve created a list of essential details to help you prepare for your travel to South Australia, but you should always refer to government webpages for the most up-to-date information and requirements. You can find out more information via the links below.

Arrive on campus

As soon as you’ve booked a flight, let us know so we can prepare your personalised plan to help you transition from online to on-campus study.

When you arrive on-campus, one of our friendly student support staff will meet with you to make sure you have all the information you need. We will also make sure you can attend an orientation program to help you settle into life in Adelaide and ensure you have everything you need for your successful study at the University of South Australia.

Post Study Work eligibility

The Department of Home Affairs has made some provisional changes to the Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) visa for those who have been impacted by COVID-19. Please see below for some of the changes and check the Home Affairs website for current information.

  • Online study undertaken outside Australia as a result of COVID-19 travel restrictions will count towards the Australian Study Requirement for existing and new student visa holders.
  • Online study outside Australia is counted from the time of Student visa grant.
