Omani student Haitham Al Battashi joined the University of South Australia in 2016 as a sponsored student. He says he has benefited from the opportunity to learn from real-world experiences during his studies.

"There is a focus on practical learning and assignments are often from real life examples. The degrees are developed to meet the requirements of the future."

"There are lots of career development opportunities – I'm going on a study tour to Malaysia this year to better understand the constructions dynamics of the region."

The Construction Management and Economics student says there is real sense of community on campus and in Adelaide. "There are students from many different cultures and it's fun to make new friends from other countries. The staff are also friendly and try to make life easier for students."

"Adelaide is a wonderful place to live. It's a coastal city for those who like the beach and there are many festivals held across the year."
