Why did you choose to study at the University of South Australia (UniSA)?

"I think UniSA has great prestige and it is well recognised among industries and people around Adelaide, so my degree will really make a difference when looking for work in Adelaide or in Australia."

What are the benefits of UniSA and their teaching staff?

"The UniSA teachers all come from very diverse industries and I think that this can help when looking for jobs as you have more of an idea as of which employers and industries interest you the most. Research and pursuing your own learning is an important skill that I have developed in depth at UniSA."

What are your impressions of Adelaide?

"Adelaide is a much cheaper to live in than the other major Australian capital cities. Also, the environment here is a lot more relaxed. There are less distractions here in Adelaide so it's a really ideal study environment.

There is a 'city loop' bus which is free and also a free tram throughout the city. If I want to travel to the suburbs, most buses come every 15 minutes. There are a lot of express services too which makes getting to my destination really easy. The buses, trains and tram are all very modern and comfortable and have air conditioning for the hot days! Plus, Adelaide has interesting places to visit such as the Botanic Gardens, the Central Markets, the Art Gallery and the Zoo. I like to go to the beach and have a good coffee (in winter) or a suntan (in summer). Also, I like to go to concerts of well-known artists, have dinner in good restaurants, or go to the wineries.

I have been really surprised that there is a very large Latin community, and talking about Colombians, there are quite a good number of us! As a community there are a lot of fund-raising parties to help each other (when there is a special case), or just parties to get to know each other and be supportive when needed.

My plan is to stay in Adelaide and find a job in my field. I would really like to live here for some years (around 10 to 15), and eventually go back to Colombia."
